When you call a baby’s name, they often turn their heads or respond because they’re starting to recognize their name. This is an important developmental milestone, typically seen around 6-9 months. It shows they are becoming more aware of their surroundings and beginning to understand that their name has meaning and is associated with them.
Working on sight words and matching letters is a fantastic way to boost early reading skills in VPK! Activities like letter matching games or using flashcards can make it fun for the kids to recognize and memorize those important words.
Buddy reading is a great way for VPK students to develop their literacy skills and social interactions. Partnering with a buddy to share stories helps build confidence, improves listening skills, and encourages teamwork.
